After years of going through camcorders and point and shoot still cameras I can gladly say I have found my hybrid dream! I bought this camera mostly for video purposes so I can achieve that depth of field which is hard even with camcorders that cost up to $2,000. The only downside is for some reason canon decided to make the 1080p video 20fps instead of 24. I shoot at 720p at 30fps. As far as stills goes, shooting at 15.1 megapixels the photos couldn't come out any better. Pro photographers try to say this cam is "entry level" and isn't a "pro camera" but it's like the little brother of the 5D mark II just that the image sensor isn't as big and it doesn't take 21.1 megapixel stills. This video does what I want with video, and I'm still learning the whole photo aspect. I use the m42 screw mount lenses and an adaptor. I have a 35mm, 2x teleconverter and a 90-250mm lens which cost no more than $25 a piece!

OVERALL: This camera is a great and affordable hybrid for video/stills and you can easily get the pro look you've been wanting!

I received a T1i as a present for Christmas. I've had a lot of experience with SLRs and P&S cameras. This is my first DSLR. I had great difficulty with the camera focusing on an item and when it did the image was very fuzzy. Depth of field seemed restricted as well. Following search on line and the handbook, I still wasn't able to correct the problem. I called the Canon helpdesk and was advised to return the camera to the place of purchase. The Canon online support and phone support were exceptional. I then contacted Amazon to organize a replacement for my camera. They immediately responded and had a new camera to me in 2 days!!

I'm now working through the settings on the new camera. Focusing seems fine and photos soft with standard settings. Have modified the settings and am finding good photo quality with the kit lens and with the EF lenses from my old SLR. Excellent color balance! Very natural compared to the other cameras I've tried.

One of the main reasons I bought this camera was that I could use my old lenses. I bought the corrective dioptics online from Canon for the view finder and I don't have to wear my glasses! Love these features.

Will provide an update once I've been able to give it a better work out. Thanks for the excellent service Amazon. Thanks Canon for such a great online and phone support service.

As someone who has been shooting Canon EOS cameras since the 1980's I can safely say without a doubt that the Canon T1i is easily the most advanced camera under $1000. I showed this camera to my Nikon and Pentax friends and they were in awe of not only its picture quality but also the features. It is a pretty straight forward camera with those little Canon touches that have been around for years like the sports mode and portrait mode. In fact, if you are considering your very first DSLR, you will not find one that is more intuitive or easier to understand right out of the box. It took Nikon, Minolta (now Sony) and Pentax literally years to come up to Canon's autofocus lens capabilities and even today, very few can argue against a Canon Lens' image quality for price ratio. The standard lens in the kit is the best yet of the inexpensive lenses. It has a handy image stabilizer and focus fairly quickly. The on-camera flash is sufficent for snapshot photography and fill-in duty but you will need to consider a 480EX II or a 580EXII flash for the best results. For the money, this is the best yet and Canon is the world-wide preferred brand of DSLR cameras. The T1i will no doubt reinforce Canon's lead in the industry.

This jacket fit my Samsung NC10 perfectly. No zippers, so nothing to scratch the netbook, yet the overlap enclosure is secure. Being reversible is a plus. When I bought my Kindle just before Christmas, I knew I wanted the little light that tucks in perfectly along side the Kindle in it's case. But for some reason, Amazon was out of stock, so I bought the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2.

The Might Bright lives up to it's name! It is very bright. But more disappointing, it was chunky, heavy (added to two AAA batteries), and just plain made my Kindle too heavy to one-hand read in bed. Plus, I got tired of my husband's "need to wear sunscreen to bed" jokes.

So I decided to go straight to M-Edge to buy the e-Luminator2, and I'm sure glad I did! (I see Amazon now has this back in stock) This little beauty is just bright enough for my Kindle, and it fits into my M-Edge leather case perfect. Very light-weight and streamlined.

My sister bought this for me to use in my m-edge prodigy case for my kindle 2. It does a great job to illuminate my kindle for night reading.

There is sometimes a slight glare on the kindle from it, but can be easily corrected if you change the angle of the light, or how you are holding the kindle.

I bought this light specifically because it was made by M-edge, and supposedly designed to fit with M-edge's leather Kindle covers. I chose the Platform cover, the one that flips backwards (like a flip chart) rather than opening like a book (that's the Prodigy, I believe).

This light does slide nicely and snugly into a slot on the side of the Platform that's obviously made for this purpose. The problem is that the position of the slot is too high up the left side of the Platform. This positions the battery compartment (the base) too high, sticking up above the upper edge of the Kindle, so that it's impossible to close the Platform cover squarely over the Kindle. I can force the cover to close squarely only by pushing rather hard on the flexible neck coming out of the battery compartment, which seems would cause damage to the neck or inner wire over time.

This problem could be solved if M-edge would move the light slot an inch or more lower on the edge of the Platform, or if the flexible neck and light came out the lower side (as the product photo makes it appear) rather than the upper side (perhaps the photo was reversed or the product was redesigned).

Given the current design, I'm rather sorry I bought these two products together. I'll probably just remove the booklight, rather than always having it sticking so high above the Kindle (some sort of catch/loop/velcro in the fold of the Platform to keep the light from waving around would also have been helpful).

So if you want the Platform cover, that flips open vertically, I don't recommend this booklight.

I bought two of these lights. One works and the other does not. It flickers incessantly and although I have asked repeatedly for a RMA to return it to Edge for a replacement they have not contacted me. The light itself fits into the sleeve on the book cover but other than that reason I would not buy it. The light is made cheaply and the whole thing looks like it will last for a month before falling apart. The battery hookup to the light is made so cheaply, it's not even as good as the battery spring hookup in the cheapest penlight you could buy. The spring in it is made like a cheap ballpoint pen spring and the light is surely not worth the price of $26 plus $5 shipping. Don't waste your money. Get a good light (and a good cover that doesn't need zipping all the time) and you will be happier.

It fits like a glove and he has no problems getting it on and off, plus it helps in improving your grip, so you're less likely to drop your ipod. Bought it to replace the previous version (Speck Toughskin). Toughskin was tougher - but difficult to install, and the hinges broke just by looking at them . . . :(

Anyhow: opened the packaging, looked flimsy - but installed it, and about two days later, proceeded to drop my iPod touch protected by it - I think the iPod didn't even notice it had been dropped !

so i ripped apart the nice packaging and pulled it out, 1st though is ugh its like a silicone, but its not its like a hard rubber. It grips the ipod very tight so great grip and dosnt slide up and down, let me say if you drop it it will protect a scratch but it will break most likely, aside from that its better then leaving it without it tho great grip tho feels good, yes it atracks lint but tis a great product it's prolly 1 of the best of the many few ipod cases i would get NOR recommend!

After succumbing to all the great reviews, I bought the "Blueberry Blue" one. Got a great deal and no shipping here too. The one for 2g iPod Touch fits the 3g too. I can still access the power button and volume just fine.

It does cover the light sensor on the back, so you'll just need to adjust it manually from "Settings".

It fits nice and snug with no movement in the case, as it should.

The nubby squares are perfect for gaming and no slipping when traveling.

I paired it with the Power Support Crystal Film screen protector and it really is the perfect combination.

This is my second bag in less than 2 weeks, that I have ordered through Amazon for my netbook. I recently purchase an 11.6" Acer netbook, looking for a bag I could use for the netbook. I ordered an 11.6-inch CaseCrown brand bag for it. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed with the bag and you will find a two star rating on it from me. Not sure about you when I purchase a bag for a Laptop or netbook I want to be able to carry the item without fighting to make it fit in the bag. On a second look, I found this bag and ordered it. Received it today and as the ad states my netbook fits without a problem, even with the battery attached. The bag has plenty of room for accessories and even provides compartments for pens and other small office related items. The bag also has additional side compartments for papers and even a blackberry or audio device like an Ipod. One item the Amazon ad didn't state, the bag is designed for travel with TSA regs in mind. The main compartment has a clear cover allowing for easy inspection. Over all the bag is well made, the shoulder strap is comfortable with padded cover and easy to adjust the length size. Simply put, the bag fits my needs. One item to note, I would have liked to have had a handle on the bag but that is just me... Highly recommended!

I'm a big fan of the Built NY hoodies - the 10" sleeve is a perfect fit for my Asus Eee PC 1000HA. The stiff insert gives an added ounce of protection and the netbook's safe and secure in my daypack, camera bag or carryon. The Asus EeePC comes with a nice soft sleeve that'll keep the netbook clean and scratch-free, but if you're a long distance traveler you'll probably prefer the Built NY hoodie. Saw it locally at a well known office supply outlet and had to have it...I should have waited and purchased it at Amazon....way better deal and price...

Pros: *It does exactly as it say's, cools my little netbook. *Serves as a stable surface when I'm not using my portable laptop table.

Cons: *If they had an additional input on the opposite side of where the plug meets the unit it would have been more convenient and universal. Because the fans are placed to one side and the vents on my netbook are opposite it, I've turned the unit so the fans are directly under it. Now the connecting plug faces me and in front.

The product is damn near impossible to install the cover without getting bubbles in. No matter how hard you try, you will be left unsatisfied with the installation when you see tiny bubbles under the screen. No amount of cleaning, pressing rubbing will get rid of them.

Once you install the cover (READ: give up trying to remove the bubbles) you will feel satisfied that your screen is protected from scratches etc. But every so often your eyes will focus on the bubble and then you won't be able to stop looking at it.

Its a great product if seen since it protects your screen from the scratches etc it would most certainly get from regular usage and is certainly worth the money spent...if only the installation description mentioned that "there will be some bubble left there, so don't worry about them" the expectations would be set correctly.

Discount Universe did not send the product purchased - the iKross 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector - they appear to have sent a generic product that doesn't even have a name on it.

After failing to get the first one protectore installed correctly, we started on the second and then finally gave up. Also, each protector has a sticky label on it, that when removed leaves a very sticky residue that smuges the protector and can't be fully removed.

The actual iKross product may be good - but the substitute sent to me is totally worthless. Don't waste you time and money.

after reading many reviews out here no one seem to have received the iKross 3-pack. Anyway, I got a different brand 3-pack too but it was a "3-pack" with lint cloth and squeegee to remove the bubble. I got it from eforcity for $0.01 including shipping. Yes, just a penny for 3-pack w/ free shipping. I am glad I paid only a penny for some unknown brand. But surprisingly, it worked fine on our new ipod 8 gb 3g. It requires a lot of patience to apply it. My better half helped installed it and it was perfect. No bubbles. So if you are like me who doesn't have enough patience then don't even try it. It will FAIL !!!

The Olympus digital was well reviewed, so I ordered it. I have an odd use for it. The neighbor who is constantly complaining about one thing or another complained to the city that my dog was barking 'non-stop' when I wasn't there. She hardly barks at all when I'm there, but how could I prove she wasn't barking when I wasn't there?

The answer, a digital recorder. The advantage of the digital recorder is that it will just record and record as long as the batteries are powered up. This means I can get 24 hours of recording, or more. Just what I need.

(I coupled this with a 'talking' clock that announces the hours so I can tell when my dog is barking (which it turns out is hardly ever)).

The recorder is very, very sensitive, and picked up not only my dog running around the backyard, but also the radio I play for her in the garage to keep her company when I am not there. This is hard to believe, since I had set the recorder up inside the house, near a slightly opened window.

The only downside to the recorder is that the operation is not intuitive. I was listening to the recording (50% faster mode which means 24 hours is done is something like 18 hours, still a very long time. I made the mistake of pressing the wrong button, which after about three hours of listening, put me back to the very start of the recording. Frustrating! It would be nice to have a fast-forward speed that showed up in real time on an indicator on the screen, but that isn't possible. This would allow a person to speed through the 24 hours in 10 minutes or so. So the recorder is not perfect.

Still, it does the job well, and solved my problem. I proved to the city animal control officer that my dog was not 'barking constantly'. Now the neighbor will have to come up with something else to complain about.

I do agree with other customers/reviewers that there are bubbles..

However, I am not letting it bother me because I believe it is impossible to avoid with the Kindle screen.

I'ts a little bit tricky to install, but once you have it right you really don't notice its there.

I'ts a hard semiflexible film, after installed i don't notice any glare.

You have to be really patient to install and do it in a clean (no dust) environment.

Start from the top, pressing with the applicator card and watching for bubbles, if you found one, remove the film and press again until you get to the end of the film.

Ordered this for my wife's Acer Aspire One 8.9" netbook after reading several reviews that said it fit the netbook with a 6-cell battery... Was very disappointed when, on receiving it, it does NOT fit (at least not properly) with the battery installed. Was able to squeeze the thing in by inserting battery-side first and REALLY stretching it. I got the impression that with how tight it was stretched the zipper wouldn't likely hold up very long - didn't seem like a particularly good zipper to start with. Took some pics of how far the netbook sticks out (a good 1/4 - 1/2 inch) inserted both ways, will try to upload them. Additionally the material is pretty thin... Might hold up OK but doesn't offer much protection for the netbook.

I've been ordering from Amazon for years, and this will be my first return.

I don't think the picture really does a justice to show how ugly that green/aqua blue strip down the middle and along the border of this case really is. I would HIGHLY suggest getting this case, but in a different color. I spent about 45 min yesterday coloring over it with a black permanent marker because I would not want to be seen with this case as a 22yr old guy at a college. Am I blowing this out of proportion, maybe, maybe most guys will be comfortable carrying this around but honestly I can't see a guy or girl wanting this color, it just looks weird.

Pro's:

Case is stretchy yet a good fit for my samsung nc10.

USB Mini mouse and USB hub look and work great.

Seems at least water resistant which although I'm not particularly clumsy is still a plus.

Con's:

Really all I can say is that the color is just terrible. If they would have just done a green or blue it would have been fine. But this is just some kind of aqua blue that I've never seen anyone have on their person, on a backpack or really on anything you would carry with you or wear.

Conclusion, great case bundle. Bad color.

I have a asus Eee netbook, which is close to 10.1" as per specifications. I got a sleeve along with the netbook, but I lost it. The free sleeve was a perfect fit, since it was designed for the 10.1" laptop. Although the design fit perfectly, the quality was not great.

I wanted to buy a sleeve for my netbook and almost checked out the model without any extra additions. This one comes in with a extra mouse [very small, but that is what I want] and also a usb hub, which makes this combo package a super deal!!

I very frequently use thumb drives, and the USB hub comes in very handy. I use the mouse while playing games :)

The quality is awesome and I would not call it a perfect fit, but leaves a small gap. So, that leaves space for my usb hub. I tried stuffing the mouse in the pack too, but it becomes puffy and stretches a little bit.

If you have a 10.1" or 10.2" screen netbook, this is a good deal. If you feel, you can skip the mouse and usb hub, you can perhaps get the sleeve without the accessories.

For the most part I am happy with this charging station. I've had it for close to a year and a half and it continues to operate, but... As time has gone by it is getting harder and harder to get the station to charge the batteries. It's not that the battery cells are dying, the charging contacts on the battery packs are dying. One of the contacts is quite literally charring. I frequently have to scrape it with a finger-nail and have now had to graduate to q-tips. I blame part of this problem on the fact that the WiiMotes are held in an almost vertical position so there is very little pressure on the contacts.

A while ago I started propping the front of the charger up to tilt the WiiMotes back for better contact. My contacts are too far gone for this to "cure" the problem but after cleaning the contacts it has reduced the amount of giggling needed to get it to charge. If it weren't for the induction charging stations coming out, I would by another one of these and tilt it back from the beginning.

My kids had been bugging me about new batteries ever since we have a Wii at home. Apparently, the Wiimotes consumes battery in no time probably due to the sound and rumble features.

I am glad that the charging station with rechargeable packs work as advertised. The finish and build quality are excellent. The product is well thought out and I was impressed.

The only concern I have is the battery pack durability. I have some bad experience with Lithium Ion batteries. Although these batteries do not have memory issue like the older technology, I learned that a fully charged Li Ion battery that left in the charger reduces the life span of the battery. Not sure if this is true but I know my Dell laptop which stayed in the docking station most of the time only lasted me 2 years. When it failed, you'll know because once undocked your laptop will run out of batteries within 5 minutes.

My recommendation is to charge the Wiimotes and then unplug the charging station. I actually turn off the power strip instead of plug and unplug the charging station.

This charger came with the Wii bundle that I purchased from Best Buy. As a charging station is seems to perform adequately however I don't like the way the remotes fit into the charger, it is not a secure fit especially with the wrist strap attached to the remote. The other issue is that you can no longer use the rubber skins on the remotes once you switch to the rechargable batteries. I think it makes total sense to use rechargable batteries with these remotes but I liked the skins. The remotes feel to small without them. Other than that it has worked fine for a couple months since I bought it.

Okay, I'm not mechanically inclined. I admit that. But I also had a competent 16 year old try to help me on this and they couldn't figure it out either. So I don't feel so bad. There were NO INSTRUCTIONS with this device. No list of what was there, plus you had to put this into the back of the Wii in order to use it. Yuk! What I wanted was a recharger that plugged into a wall plug and not into the back of my Wii. Plus, instructions for us unknowledgeable people to show us EXACTLY how to use the darn thing. All in all, this was a disappointment to me. Perhaps after I figure it out I'll re-review it, but right now, I don't consider this a good product.

The value for price of this headset is amazing. It's not perfect - the lapel clip slips down the cord - but for $10, there's no way to complain. As long as you set the microphone reasonably close to your mouth, this headset will provide almost perfect fidelity (as good as your phone provides). I'm using it with a Uniden set, but have also used it with a Panasonic. It's not indestructible, but it's survived over a year's use and shows very little wear. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

The headset is comfortable and works just fine. Sound quality is great. I plugged it into a Panasonic multi-line phone from the late 1980s and it worked perfectly

However the plastic frame broke after a year of very gentle use. The plastic frame is quite brittle and very thin in part.

I have refrained from rotating the microphone because it creates static every time I've done that. This makes me think, as others have already noted - the wires may be prone to breaking.

At about $10.00, this headset represents a good value. But it is a throw away item and for the price, I guess I should have expected that.

As noted, my Panasonic hard wired phones have been exceptionally reliable and have been used daily for decades.

Some sort of powerful noise cancellation is in this unit, The noise you get from walking next to a running city bus does not get through to the other party.

Overall much better than I though possible.

Just got mine this morning, have listened to them for about 1/2 hour.

The first impression I had was "What the heck!" There was some nasty hissing sound, even when I wasn't playing any music. I am happy to say that this has gone away. It's dead silent when I pause my music now - don't give up.

The cord is long. If you want to be 10 feet away, that's great. However, the belt clip is handy if you want to keep your player in your pocket. I'll warn that it's a big clip - It's at least an inch thick and wide, and probably 4.5" long. This belt clip definitely goes on your belt. For now, though, it's holding the excess next to my computer.

The ear cups do a great job of silencing ambient noise, and even people talking nearby. They're supra-aural, not circum-aural, which means they sit on top of your ears. They're soft and light, but they apply a little too much pressure to my ears IMHO. They're getting warm. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

The sound quality, as you know, is great (after the initial hissing). It's balanced - What you expect to hear from your music. Not tinny or bass-heavy at all. If you want to hear lots of bass, you can set your equalizer that way - they play what you send them.

I haven't had a long time to estimate the build quality, but they seem about right for the price. I was surprised by all the plastic. Aside from the glossy rings around the ears and Sennheiser logo, they're flat black. They feel pretty cheap, but others have rated their durability highly. Nothing made me think they'd sound great before I put them on.

I wouldn't recommend gifting them to an audiophile, unless they take some time to burn them in. I also wouldn't recommend them to someone looking for super-cheap headphones, even though they're priced that way! They sound too good for that.

I give a 5 star rating for the sound quality at a cheap price and the fact that I lug these around everywhere from school to babysitting and they are completely fine and working great. A lot of headphones I've had end up breaking or one ear goes dead.

-People who like bass and keeping their money too, buy these. I can turn my Sansa mp3 all the way up and it sounds pretty good still. (I put it on the "Rock" or some such setting and it sounds great.)

-I heard instruments and parts to songs I never even noticed before--good sound experience. <3

So far, in daylight and indoor (with and without flash) I haven't had any problems. The shots look the same as if the filter wasn't there. Exactly what I wanted.

This is just a basic UV filter, and is usually pretty useful, but occasionally creates serious problems. I've noticed that I get blue/green noise on my images in back-lit or bright photographs. This is a serious problem, and isn't always noticeable in the viewfinder. It's no fun to get home and find out that some of your favorite compositions look like crap.

I'm using Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, which both function beautifully, so the filter is definitely the problem.

If you can't afford a better filter, go with this one. Be ready to take it off when you are outside though.

This Kindle is a great investment. I absolutely love the perfectly sized, comfortable build. Translation: it's your problem and you are our Wentzvile MO area Mail Detective that makes $0.00 per hour investigating Amazon's lost mail. Numerous emails later I still don't have my money back and I still don't have the first Kindle I ordered. I have over $500.00 tied up on my credit card for 1 Kindle. I thought I would shop on line this year and avoid some hassel. HA! What a mistake that was. I had the Sony Reader in my hands at Best Buy that I could have bought and had it in my hands WEEKS ago for $200.00.

I bought this product to house my point and shoot camera while I traveled. The idea was to protect the camera while not being a burden to carry. While the case does have a lot of padding, it's much too bulky to put in a pocket. There are other cases that sufficiently protect against accidentally dropping your camera, while still maintaining a low profile.

I bought this to originally hold a Creative Vado video camera but returned the camera and kept the case. I'm using this for a Canon SD780 IS instead, and the case is a little too big for it. The case also fits a Blackberry Curve 8900 just fine.

The only difference is that in the picture, the pouch I received had a D ring carabiner instead of a circle carabiner. It's not a bad thing, actually. I'm able to clip it anywhere and go. I even use this to hold a Garmin Edge 305 for photography so I can geotag my photos.

It's $7, and is a great all purpose carrying case for smaller gadgets. Just clip it onto a belt loop and you're ready to go.

I bought this because I didn't know the flip camcorder I bought came with a cover. The cover it came with is very nice but also thin. Good for around the house or a day trip. This cover is very nice and it is also padded. The camcorder fits in it just right and the drawstring thing works easily. I think this is a better choice for traveling and will use it on my next trip at thanksgiving. Plus it is very inexpensive for how nice it is made.

I purchased this to protect my Vado HD when I am lugging it around. It fits very tight with the silicon skin on the Vado, but not to the point where the camera pops out of the bag. I have peace of mind knowing that if the bag fell, the camera would be protected.

On mine, the locking clip was not a circular shape, but rather more of an elliptical shape that you would see on climbing gear. It does say it's not meant to be used for climbing, so there shouldn't be any confusion there with its purpose.

For the price, I'd say you can't go wrong with this item.

There are some valid reasons for not buying the warranty listed on other reviews but you need to consider buying any warranty like this on any and all products. If they included loss or theft I could see justifying it. But, when you consider that you are paying almost 26% of the cost of the device that might break, you have definitely lost money as opposed to possibly. If you are a complete disaster with electronics and break everything, I get that. Yes, it might make sense. But if you continuously buy warranties on all your expensive purchases "just in case" you are essentially paying a steep premium for everything you own. Hey, some people like to spend more because they think they get more value. If that is you, call me and I will be your personal shopper. If not, do the math. Also consider that this technology is taking off now and competition is getting steep. Look at the cost today vs. a year ago. Remember how quickly prices go down with competition too (dvd players, vhs players, TV's, etc.). Keep backing up your Kindle on your computer, save yourself the cost of "what if's," and read what Consumer Reports says about extended warranties. Some companies and products offer crumby warranties and then offer extended on top of it. Consider sticking with companies, like Amazon, that do support their products and the potential failures they may face due to manufacturing as opposed to companies that don't take accountability for their own products. As to why they are offered? Two reasons, people will pay for them and can you say, "cash cow?"

Stop buying these warranties, consider how much $65 actually costs you pre-tax, find out what the warranty costs that you want to buy on everything you purchase from this point forward and instead of buying it, put that money in a savings account and insure yourself!

Having been a manager for a large computer retailer I can tell you that the accidental portion alone is worth the price. So often people are weary of spending "extra" money for an insurance plan. Yes, you may never need it, but the one time you do, and you never purchased it, you'll regret it. I have had many customers with laptop problems like liquid-spill damage or LCD-screen "bleeds" and I've been able to do nothing for them because they did not have coverage. They are justifiably FURIOUS. They now have to spend $400 to $600 to fix thier laptop or they have to buy a new laptop and pay for a data transfer because they were not proactive enough about backing up thier data. Avoid all of this....Spend the 62 cents a week to protect yourself, especially if you travel or have children. And by the way....the "accidental" portion of the plan starts on day #1 (not day #366). Based on the regular warranty, the provider will not be interested in talking to you when you call to say that you dropped your Kindle and its not working. Best regards to all. I bought this due to the stellar previous reviews and also because I needed a smart charger. My old dumb charger ruined several sets of batteries.

I love the LaCrosse. I have no complaints other than it does too much! Once I got the hang of it with the manual, all is well, but initially it can be quite intimidating due to the sheer amount of options.

It also helped save a few sets of old batteries that had their capacity reduced to about 20% by my old charger. This new one, after a few days of cycling, brought the batteries back to about 80% and usable.

It also does wonders with a new set of Duracell precharged rechargeables I bought. Charges them fast, and keeps them in tip top shape.

Highly recommended charger, and it will save you tons of money in the long run.

I cannot really tell you if this is a good unit or not, but like a lot of other people here, I can tell you I got a bad one. After plugging it in for the first time and trying to charge the La Crosse batteries that came with the unit, it melted. I plugged it in at night and all was well. In the morning I noticed a burning smell coming from the charger. I looked over and saw the two middle buttons above the LCD had sunk into the plastic frame. I immediately unplugged it and called La Crosse. Never did hear back from them. Boxed it up and sent it back to Amazon. I think I should have listened to others here and just bought the MAHA charger. I will be doing that now. I really wanted this to work due to the price difference between the two. I thought that the odds of a meltdown were slim. Guess not! Just make sure that if you do buy this charger, place it on a metal or glass surface. I got lucky and caught it just in time, but even then the charger and batteries were only warm to the touch.

Reviews about this charger sounded good and I must agree. I had about three older sets of batteries. I chose "Refresh" mode for each set which took about three days, I believe. The process involves discharging and charging each battery independently. At the end when each display showed "Full" I checked the mAh for each battery and made a note of it. That way I now know which set has the most storage capacity. The weakest batteries went into electric clocks that run several months on normal batteries. I highly recommend this charger.

There are plenty of reviews out there covering all the pros, which is why I bought two of them. But there's one ANNOYING thing about this charger--

Once a battery is discharged to a certain level, under normal use while still fully recoverable, it's no longer recognized by the charger. It takes a "dumber" charge to raise the voltage above the threshold in order to put the battery back to service. So you have to keep two chargers around.

The positive reviews were very positive. Unfortunately, my experience was similar to those had a bad experience with this device. The buttons on top are disappearing into the body of device. The charging is uneven, the capacity readings make no sense, and the brand new batteries that are charged don't hold a charge for more than a day. One of the slots no longer charges. I have only had this for a week and have spent considerable time messing around with charge, discharge, test modes with 3 different sets of batteries. I am tempted to return for a new version, because of the positive ratings and I love the features.

Like my title says this has been working fine for me and I will give a good/bad breakdown below. This is one of only 2 converters that change channels and will work with a VCR so we have little choice if we want "low cost" control and recording.

Some options I have been looking at are: buy a $300 DVRPlus by EchoStar at Sears, buy an on sale for $229 HD TiVo with $12 monthly fee or $400 lifetime fee from Amazon, buy a Moxi DVR for $600 with no extra fees or make something out of your PC.

Good: The setup is simple and the picture looks great. I have had no problems with it losing time or changing to the wrong channel like some have had and setting the 8 events is simple. It does what it says and works like it says.

SoSo: I really dont think the signal strength meter is accurate as on 99% of my channels it shows 100 when my HDTV's and other converters show 80-90ish. All are connected to the same antenna. Even on channels my other boxes show 50-60, this shows a full 100 so there is no way IMO this can be correct. Either way the picture looks great.

Bad: There is no guide at all compared to other converters I have or have seen. To see anything at all you need to go "channel by channel" one at a time and it only shows whats on right then and the next show. Thats it.

I know others have said it and I didnt really think it could be that bad but the remote is tiny and flimsy. It also has no TV on/off so you always need to have 2 remotes handy.

Bottom line: If you want "low cost" recording help without having to remember to always change the converter to the right channel at the right time, I know I always forgot and I am sure others have too, this is pretty much it. The picture is good and it works well with little problem and does what it says.

FWIW: I have decided to use this box in my bedroom to just change channels on a schedule (wake to the news, go to bed watching this or that on certain nights,etc...) but I ordered the $229 HD TiVo while they were on sale with free shipping from Amazon. They are still listed at $300 on the tivo website. I did not really want a monthly fee for anything but if you pay a full year ahead you only pay for 10 months not 12. The DVRPlus I mentioned above has been discontinued by EchoStar and only has a 90 day warranty plus a lot of problems I read, the Moxi was just too much upfront and I figured if I am going to pay a couple hundred for a DVR I might as well get a TiVo.

This has nothing really to do with the Zinwell, more I want to be able to record shows in HD, I really need more than the 8 programming limit and I am tired of fooling with video tapes and sometimes poor quality or other problems the tapes can have.

Excellent reception. I tried 4 antennas before this one, now I can have so many channles I couldn't have before. Folding size is compact, but when you open it, it's wide and took over the entire top of TV set. It looks durable and will last many years to come. A 5 star antenna if you are like me, living in an apartment that practically is blocked by the surrounding areas and got poor reception with the converter box before.

I was using my existing cable line as my antenna (which runs outside my house and up to the 2nd story) for a while which worked OK most of the time. However, I decided to try an antenna to boost reception after my local NBC station started flaking out in poor weather. I bought this antenna based on the positive reviews and I am less than impressed. I could never reliably get all my local stations at once even though they are coming from basically the same direction (and in the same city in which I live). I'd skip it and go straight to an attic antenna if I had to do it again. This is already back in the mail for a return.

I realized soon after getting my flip HD that I can find so much to shoot that I burn up a battery pack and need to recharge it and that sometimes it's most convenient to recharge it via a wall outlet rather than a computer. Here are some examples,,,

We went on a week long cruise and I had no computer access but I could recharge with this because there were electrical outlets everywhere.

I was shooting a wedding reception for a friend and forgot to recharge before leaving but by the time the wedding was over I grabbed my fully charged unit where I plugged it into the church wall behind a table and I was ready to shoot the full reception without losing any power.

We went to Myrtle Beach and stayed in a friend's condo. No computer there to recharge but I just popped in my camcorder at night before going to sleep and it was always ready to shoot in the morning.

I have even found outlets at the airport (near soda fountains and vending machines) in a pinch.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that my camera runs out of juice easily, it is, instead, that the cameras owner forgets to recharge it as often as I should.

Negatives: Wish this was made so I could just stick my spare battery pack into it rather than having to plug the actual camcorder into it but I suppose most don't have spare battery packs so that is no big deal. However it would be nice if it somehow left open the option to do both so that I could keep shooting while it charges

it is really lightweight and has,so far, worked perfectly for me.

With a lower price and an option to buy the device with bigger memory, the ipod Touch is becoming increasingly popular among kids, teenagers, adults and even seniors. With extreme versatility, this device can be a portable game player, an mP3 player, a utility tool, video/movie player, and also used to surf the internet (Safari).

Having an almost button-less screen, the iPod Touch's 3.5-inch touch screen has an amazing resolution of 480-by-320 pixel resolution with clear and bright display. Its internet browser (Safari) is the best browser that a portable device could have and there are millions of applications that can be downloaded through the app store. Applications range from games to utility tools to books and more! For music-lovers, the iPod Touch will definitely live up to their expectations. Avid music listeners can listen to their songs to their hearts' content. The iPod Touch can play up to 30 hours of audio the option of repeating or shuffling songs. Users can also create their own playlists, where they add their own personal favorite songs to the list so that they can enjoy their all-time favorites for however long they want. Good news for movie lovers! The iPod Touch also supports 6 hours of video playback. Whether you are with your friends hanging out, shopping, or sitting at home alone with nothing to do, the iPod touch can be a great companion and provides plenty of entertainment for all ages.

The Apple iPod touch has a large selection of music genres, all the newest movies/television shows/ music videos, and provides never-ending fun. The functions are endless, and when you purchase an iPod touch, it comes with a calendar, mail, contacts list, stocks, maps, weather, a clock, calculator, Safari (Apple's internet source), a notepad, and many other useful tools. The touch screen feature measures about 3.5 inches (diagonal) widescreen and is very touch sensitive. It has worked very well with no major complaints so far. The screen is very clear and easy to read, and hardly ever gets a scratch.

Even though there are many positive things about this product, there are also a few weaknesses. The main problem I have had was the battery life. I have experienced a battery completely dying in less than two hours. My two suggestions for all new iPod touch users is to keep the "brightness" set on low ("brightness" can be found in the settings section) and make sure that when you are not using the Wi-fi, turn the Wi-fi off (also located in the settings section). Occasionally, the iPod can freeze when "overused" or can take a long time to load the apps, however, this happens in rare situations.

Overall, the iPod touch is a great product and has kept me happily occupied for hours. Two years after receiving this iPod, I have come to the conclusion that this is one of my favorite items that I own. I rarely leave the house without it. Whether it's listening to music, playing games, watching videos, or checking my email, there is always something to do on my iPod touch. With all of its great features, who wouldn't want to have something as fun and entertaining as an iPod touch?

This thing is such a blast. For those of you who want most of the benefits of an iPhone without having to put up with evil AT&T, this product is your answer. I use it all the time, especially when I'm somewhere that has wifi. I can surf the web, check email, IM people, it's great. It also has a great calendar and address book that syncs with my Mac, plus the apps store for downloading all kinds of great stuff. If the iPhone ever has another carrier besides AT&T, I'm all over it. Until then, the iPod Touch is the next best thing.

I'm not a Mac person. Highly skeptical of the extremely proprietary nature of the ipod/iphone. That said, I wanted something that would just work for video and audio while travelling and web surfing/corporate email when home or in a hotel with wi-fi. Well- it worked so much better and was so much more flexible than I'd thought that I went all-in and switched to the iphone. Coming from a Blackberry person of many years, that's about as hardy and endorsement as there is.

video is outstanding and easily converted. Audio is outstanding. iTunes is not great; it's unstable, a resource hog, and not intuitive. The ipod itself is great, however.

Big iPod Classic fan here. iTunes on the Mac is a fantastic app for managing my media library and devices, and the capacity is unbeatable. The 7th Gen 160GB is the third Classic model I've owned. I outgrew my 80GB and almost outgrew my 120GB which I decided to sell to a friend who needs a great player.

I had to return the first one I bought because the click wheel was laggy and unresponsive. I experienced this same issue with my 80GB Classic for which Apple released firmware updates that improved, but did not solve responsiveness issues.

The second one, which I have now, does not have the laggy click wheel. It's perfect. BUT this one exhibits annoying issues with hard drive noise. The hard drive makes a whining sound when spinning up that is audible through the headphones.

I will return this one and hopefully get one that does not have click wheel or hard drive noise issues, then I may upgrade my review to 4 stars. I would give this item 5 stars if not for the quality issues.

Be aware (I sure wasn't), that Apple has decided you're just renting both the iPod and your music/tv shows/podcasts from them. Now, not only is it still a pain in the behind to transfer your files to anything other than the computer they started on, but now you have to buy a 50$! cord from Apple, of course, to watch your TV shows on your own TV because they now implant chips to prevent you from using non-Apple approved (and priced) accessories. I was a huge fan of the iPod when I got my first one four years ago. I looked on my iTunes account and I've spent thousands of dollars on a few thousand TV shows, movies, songs and audiobooks, but I am done. I am tired of Apple acting like they are doing me a favor by selling me a product. I'm returning my new iPod and buying some other MP3 player. I don't care which one anymore. Apple is so deeply offensive as a company that I'm just totally, completely, 100% DONE with them.

This router rocks. I replaced a Linksys WRT-110 with this router and was amazed by the difference in wireless networking quality. The WRT-110 was constantly dropping connection and slow; this router is constantly connected and fast.

We are using one desktop (XP), one laptop (Vista), one wireless printer and one VOIP adapter (SPA 2102). Easy setup and none of the arbitrary problems you can get with Windows.

I bought two Logitech Premium Notebook Headsets. The product is so good I just wanted to add my voice to all the positive reviews...

PROS:

VERY EASY TO INSTALL.

1) USB has a sound card built-in. The USB sound card worked without any 'manual' software installation. It is totally plug-and-play (Windows 7). SKYPE recognized the new device and switched over immediately. After I unplug the USB sound card, SKYPE switches back to the mic (microphone) in my webcam and back to my desktop speakers. Be aware that not all software will be so `user friendly' as SKYPE. You may need to manually reconfigure your software (or reboot) when you unplug the USB sound card. 2) Instead of using the USB port the two separate headset and mic jacks can be plugged into any laptop or desktop. This does not alter any software hardware configuration; I would recommend this for people with laptops that do not know how (or want) to get into their software to change between multiple hardware configurations. Using the jacks simply works. No changing to new sound devices or switching between hardware depending on the software you are using.

VERY, VERY Comfortable! This is the first over-the-ears-behind-head head set that I can wear for hours.

EXCELENT VOICE CLARITY! Best ever. I have had quite a lot of headsets, even ones with ear-buds and mics. The Logitech Premium Notebook Headset is by far the clearest sounding.

HEADSET ADJUSTMENTS. The ear pieces can easily be adjusted for a perfect ear fit.

NOT BLUETOOTH. All the Bluetooth headsets I have used simply did not work very well (both stereo and mono). The voice quality is poor. There is a lag, between you starting to speak and the device recognizing that you are talking. The mic pickups are just not in the same league. ALSO, with Bluetooth there is the software configuration issue when switching between desktop speakers and the Bluetooth headset. But for now, Bluetooth is still second rate versus being hardwired. I would prefer a wireless headset if the sound quality was near as good.

This has got to be the best webcam on the market!

First of all, i initially was going to pay regular price ($99.99)at a retail store, but i came to Amazon and found the same model webcam, for $66.00. That was amazing! I ordered on Monday, and paid $15.00 (next day arrival) and i received it Tuesday! This Camera is everything that more expensive webcams, should be. Also this webcam is great for laptops (that was a concern for me), and can record HD videos. PERFECT! Logitech pro 9000, has direct upload to YouTube and a host of other features! Hands down, this is a PERFECT webcam! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a top of the line webcam. BTW it has a great zoom feature and also you can hold very small print, close to the webcam lens, and your viewers could actually read it! Not blurry like other webcams. This is my first webcam, and was purchased to work with a Dell laptop running Ubuntu Linux (Hardy Heron). Hardware configuration with Linux can be a real bear, but this camera was easy. The uvcvideo driver (kernel module) required to operate the cam is a stock module under this version of Ubuntu, and the luvcview utility, which can be used for testing and adjusting the camera, is available as a package. After manually inserting the uvcvideo module into the kernel, this camera came right up with no tinkering in luvcview and ran with Skype for Linux just as easily.

The built-in USB microphone is OK, nothing to write home about as far as quality is concerned, but quite adequate and intelligible for speech. It took some tinkering to bring the mike up on the system for testing, since the Latitude D600 on which it's being used has a built-in mike which takes priority in the PulseAudio server (which runs by default).

First of all I would like to say that I got this as a bonus when I bought my Asus EEE netbook and it fits in it perfectly. I have a few concerns though. There is padding inside of the case but if your not careful, or occasionally tend to drop your phone. I'm not so sure the product will cushion the fall too well. Maybe on carpet, but definitely not on concrete. As long as you're careful with your expensive stuff, you should be good.

It's a decent microphone. I thought that getting a USP-microphone would be a better choice than the standard audio jack variety; but as is true with so many things that seem simple enough, trying to get it to work with Vista is an unnecessary difficulty. Installation for Vista is absent from the simple instructions in the booklet, leading me to believe that this microphone pre-dates it. Nonetheless, I forced my computer to accept the device by deactivating its own, inferior, built-in microphone. It works now; but I use it primarily with language-learning software so I have very little comment on the quality of its recordings. For the purpose of the language software, it is a great improvement over the built-in microphone.

Its unfortunate such inexpensive items require such pricey shipping charges. But they just dont offer these mics in stores. I havent had an opportunity to use this for recording but for voice chats it is sufficient. I purchased this mic brand new as a gift but would certainly buy another one for myself. I started playing DDO with an RL friend recently, and he wanted to use the integrated voice comm in the game. I've got a 5.1 surround setup in my bedroom and play wirelessly on my HDTV, and I didn't want to mess around with using a headset for sound. So I took the mic portion of the headset and was using that, but apparently my audio was kind of atrocious, and they'd hear a lot of the game sounds and even ambient music in the game.

So I purchased this for that situation, because it purports to have noise canceling. My friend immediately noticed the difference and even asked if I'd turned off the music, but the audio quality on this mic really struck home when another party member was trying to adjust his microphone and I asked him to contrast my friend and myself. He said my friend sounded good if a little loud, and I "sounded like I was in the room with him". That was a pretty huge compliment on my audio quality, and it the allocates rest solely with this microphone.

I was concerned that the mic wouldn't be able to cut it in the realm of online gaming with sound coming out of speakers rather than headphone, but experience tells me that it'll work just fine. And if it works in that kind of environment, then it'll work for the 80% of you who just want to Skype.

"Open BDP360 tray with BDP300 remote" 2009-11-21

Any update of this excellent BDP will surely now include the OPEN/CLOSE tray button on the remote.

I agree that it is an irritation to stand by the BDP to wait for the tray to open, and a few seconds can be saved by pressing the button to open the tray while getting the next BD ready.

I have BDP300 remote controls. BDP300 was the first commercially affordable BDP which came out over a year ago, and is already pretty much obsolete because of the 90 second boot time.

Remote controls are expensive items, and if one can swop the remotes between the old BDP 300 and the new BDP 360, we can get the more solid BDP 300 remote to open AND close the BDP 360 tray! They are mutually compatible and INTERCHANGEABLE. The BDP 360 remote can be relegated to the BDP 300: the Open button is relatively redundant with the BDP300. After pressing the start or tray OPEN button on the old BDP 300, I still have 90 seconds to go to the toilet and come back, or have a Coke zero, or rummage through the BD collection.

This is a plug and play BDP. There is the BDP560 if you want extra features. Some BDs which will not play on the old BDP300 work on BDP360, like The Ninth Gate (Johnny Depp), The Best of Soundstage.

The sold-in-USA BDP360 will not play Region 3 dvds. Tried and failed.

The BDP360s sold elsewhere (i.e. not from Amazon and delivered within the USA) are multi-coded for DVDs from all regions, and we pay a hefty premium for international versions of BDP360 which plays and upscales ALL dvds from ALL regions. The USA version of BDP360 cannot therefore replace the multi-region dvd player you might happen to have.

There is no need to retire the old BDP300. Smaller TVs can still benefit from the old BDP300, which is thunky enough to support a small LCD TV on top (although not recommended without some adaptation). The small size of the BDP360 placed in front of the TV table-top means one can still see the sub-titles from some viewing angles, like lying on the sofa. The BDP300 can be salvaged for another room, or when placing it at an angle to the BDP360 with another TV (to avoid triggering off two BDPs at once).

That is my solution to the lack of the OPEN/CLOSE button issue. Use the old remote.

There are lots of new Blu-Ray players coming out with advanced features like network streaming of videos. But I've already got an Xbox360 hooked up to my home theater, and several PCs available as well, and all of them can handle any video streaming needs I may have. All I really needed was a Blu-Ray player that would do a really nice job playing Blu-Ray discs and my old DVDs. Thanks to the new players, the price on this one has really dropped, so I pounced.

I had one small glitch hooking it up. My HDTV is an older Sony 34" CRT that handles 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i, but not 1080p. I hooked the Blu-Ray player up through my Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable, which then handles the connection to the TV. When I told the BDP-S360 to use the HDMI connection, all I got was a black screen. I ended up having to use the composite video cables that come with the player to get a picture, and then told the player to use 720p output. Everything then worked fine. So something in the handshake between the TV, receiver, and player thought 1080p was supported, but once forced to 720p everything was fine.

Disc loading times aren't bad, taking about the same time as booting up my Xbox360 or turning on my 400-disc DVD changer, so I really didn't notice them. The picture, even at only 720p, is FANTASTIC, showing details I just never noticed before and really enhancing the picture. An example here is that with Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure (yes, most of my viewing is for the kids), the pixie dust effects on the DVD have a lot more "glow" to them, while on the Blu-Ray they are individual sparks that don't cover the background as much. The detail improvement is really impressive.

Updating the firmware was pretty trivial. With the Xbox360 and a Wii I already have ethernet running to the entertainment center along with a hub, so I just hooked up another cable and it downloaded and upgraded easily.

So far I'm very happy. If you really want video streaming you may need to look elsewhere, or if you need a WiFi network connection, but since I did not need either this was a perfect fit at a very good price.

I bought this player after my upconverting dvd player's remote quit working, which gave me a good excuse to upgrade. For the price this player can't be beat. The picture quality is awesome, the upconverting looks good, and the sound is great too. The menus, setup, and features are very user friendly. The start up times are good, and I don't notice the long wait time some have mentioned. It does lack certain features which would be nice, such as the Netflix streaming capability. Although I have a Netflix account, I would have to set it up through wi-fi (not available with this player), and I don't think I would use it that frequently for it to be an issue.

My main concern in choosing a blu ray player was it's compatibility with recordable dvd's (dvd+r or dvd-r). I have alot of home movies on standard recordable discs and wanted to make sure that I would be able to view them on the player. This player does play my standard recorded dvd's without any problems. The issue involving the player not continuing the movie if you press stop as opposed to pause must be a disc issue. I stopped a few movies, even turned off the player, and the movie started from where it stopped. Also, the remote not having an eject button, I still need to get up to remove the disc so this isn't an issue for me.

If you want a player with great picture quality and has basic features for a great price, then I don't think you can go wrong with this player.

I'm actually pretty darn tech savvy, but I somehow managed over the years to not hear that there are different speeds of SD memory cards. Whoops.

I bought this card and immediately put it in my Blackberry Bold, replacing my existing 2gb card. My God, my Blackberry dang near froze. If I take a picture, it takes a solid 15 seconds to reboot the camera for another. If I try to hook my Blackberry into the computer and drag and drop files, it freezes for 10 minutes at a time. My Bold also randomly shuts down and reboots, which apparently is caused by it being short on memory.

So, this one is going in the trash. Instead, I just bought Class 6 card, which will hopefully resolve these problems.

Asus USB 2.0 8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive fit my situation perfectly. I needed an external optical drive to install OSes, applications and watch movies (when I'm at the marina chillin')for our family's 2 netbooks (Asus Eee Pc 900 and the 1000HA). A lot of the reviews said that THIS was the camera that brought micro camcorders into their own. This is not true. The Flip does a better job than the z18 on every front - from video to low light video to audio recording.

even the build quality of the zi8 is terrible. It feels terribly flimsy and the form factor does not aid on-the-go shooting the way the Flip does.

I have had the Kodak Zi8 for almost 2 months now, and am very happy with it. It replaced an older JVC mini dv camcorder. The picture quality is very good. The widescreen aspect ratio, compared to the old format is awsome. I can't get over how crisp and clear the videos are on my HD tv. The low light videos of my daughters birthday are great. Since it slips into my shirt pocket, i take it everywhere, and now have lots of videos that I would never have taken with the older, larger camcorder. No sound problem, as the sound works great. My advise is buy it, you wont' regret it for the money. A more expensive camcorder will not get you a better picture, just a better zoom lens. This lens is fine for what it's intended for.

i was looking for a video camera and I was between the Flip HD and the Kodak zi8. I decided to go for the zi8.

I got it yesterday and in summary: it is a piece of junk. It is my first return trough Amazon after years of purchasing all kinds of stuff online.

The camera freezes all the time, the power button doesn't work 90% of the time, so the only way to turn this camera was by removing the battery. I could not download videos into my PC. I contacted Kodak customer service, i installed the software upgrades and the camera still freezed all the time. I even bought a new Kodak SD memory card thinking this could have been the problem, and nothing got solved. Kodak customer service suggested that I got the camera exchanged. And yes, I am exchanging it for a Flip or something else!

Please be aware that this is NOT a longer USB cable. It is an extension cable with 'Type A' connectors at BOTH ends (male and female) - meaning that this cable will NOT connect 2 devices by itself. It will only work with and extend a 'regular' USB cable that has a 'Type A' male connector at one end. 'Type A' is the type of connector that would normally plug into your computer or laptop USB port.

These being said, I found it quite useful with peripherals that come with permanently attached cables that are not as long as I wish they were. I am using mine with a Logitech Driving Force GT Racing Wheel and with a T-flight Hostas joystick on which we can use a longer cable.

There's not much to say other than everything is done right, including the price. It is USB 2.0 certified and connectors at both ends appear to be gold-plated and solidly built. This is important because, unlike a HDMI cable that you usually plug it in at the back of your equipment and it's likely to stay there, USB cables tend to be plugged in and out many times and this is even more so the case with an extension cable.

While USB cables are clearly a commodity item these days, AmazonBasics cables do have a couple of advantages over the competition.

- EASY RETURN - I know because I had to return quite a few items for various reasons. Amazon makes it very easy and, if you are returning the item because it came defective or damaged Amazon pays for shipping.

- WARRANTY - these wires come with a 1-year warranty.I am highly confident that Amazon will be around to honor its warranty and I'm not so sure about vendors I know less.

- QUALITY ASSURANCE - I've never had any problems with 'cheap' USB or HDMI cables but it may be reassuring to have Amazon's name on a wire. My assumption is that Amazon did insist on some quality checks before they stamped their logo on the product.

- PRICE - This cable may appear more expensive than others but keep in mind that, unlike most, it qualifies for SuperSavers and Amazon Prime free shipping.

I am awarding this item 5 stars for price and quality - there's nothing to complain. There may be better deals out there, pricewise but I decided to go with the Amazon brand in this case for the reasons cited above.

My take:

-thin, light, cheap, cools fine, quiet, low power draw.

-I took off the memory door on my computer to enhance cooling.

-quieter than other coolers I have owned, you can barely hear it.

-Battery life drop is pleasingly small, from 6 to 5 hours usable.

-Fan intakes are on the bottom (blows upwards), not so hot for a bed.

-Fits in my targus netbook case along with my ASUS EEE PC.

-No ball bearing fans, other similar coolers I have owned die after

9 months at 8 hours a day, I expect similar lifespan here.

-It has special fans to make it thin, but I wish it was even thinner.

Overall, unless I could find something more compact, I would

I was having overheating problems with my netbook, so I looked into buying the Targus Chill Mat. After finally deciding I'd give it a shot, I ordered it and it works really well. It fits the base of my netbook almost exactly, and is lightweight enough to be carried everywhere I bring my netbook. The two fans are very quiet and make no more noise than the computer itself. It has a simple enough setup to be connected to my netbook 24/7, and whereas before I had to keep my netbook off of anything that was not a tile, marble, or wood surface to avoid overheating, I can now set it straight on my bed with no fear of crashing. Even better, the fan runs off of your computer's power without compromising battery life in the least.

The only problems with the product are minor - because of it's light weight, it appears and feels cheap, although it certainly is not that way. Any pressure on the fans causes them to press against the frame and make a slight buzzing noise, so you have to be careful when you grab it.

Overall a wonderful product for anyone who has overheating concerns or wants a cool layer between their lap and their netbook.

Awesome out of the box experience. I had the Flip Ultra HD unboxed and recording in about 2 minutes. Very simple, user friendly controls. The rechargeable battery had enough charge to make a few short videos. The video quality is outstanding.

My only complaint is that it needs charged by a PC. It was not clear in the advertising that you needed to purchase an optional wall plug. It charges by USB.

The built in FlipShare software is very easy to install and use. I made a 5 minute video of my two cats running around and put their antics to the Benny Hill Theme. The process took a whole 5 minutes. Again I love this camera

I purchased my Flip HD Ultra directly from the Flip site and bought accessories from Amazon. While recording video is flippin simple and the unit is so flippin compact--trying to get their mp4 into any other software for editing is flippin frustrating. I'm so ticked that they advertise the format as mp4 as in truth it should be mp4a or mp4b so that you know it is NOT the typical mp4 format that so easily imports into all other video software editing programs. The flippin MP4 that FLIP uses is absolutely proprietary and only works in their flippin' limited software.

I'm flippin frustrated with their customer support and no solutions for what I consider to be misleading advertising. If they had advertised they were using a proprietary version of mp4...I NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS!

Be careful, this product is utterly inferior, so much so that I am inspired to do my first product review of any kind. This item is purely a child's toy typically found under the xmas tree. Really bad resolution, color and contrast. I am quite experienced with photography and video, therefore my warning - stay away! (BTW I am absolutely sure that the product I received was in PERFECT working condition and my operation of it was completely competent.) I returned it (Amazon Prime) the same day I received it after extensive testing.

The Flip UltraHD is well worth it!!!!!!!!! It's simple operating features make taking video fun and easy. Video's or still photos can be put together with easy to use flip software. This video camera is so compact, it can be placed in your pocket. The 120 minutes of video is more than sufficient. The battery holding charge is good, and you can use regular batteries if needed. There is also a convenient electrical outlet adapter charger available.

Just got the Flip Ultra HD and filmed a video interview with a band after a concert, as well as some random stuff around the apartment.

The Good: This thing is dead simple to use, and the quality is really good, so you can't go wrong there. If you want to film something on the go, or use a tripod for some static shots, and then immediately combine some of the shots you take or just send them right along to YouTube or someone's email, you can't go wrong.

The Bad: The software sucks if you want to do anything other than above. Not only that, but if you play around with the videos before deciding what you want to do with them (pull them off the Flip and put 'em on your harddrive; try to edit in another program; etc.) good luck to you, because you've just screwed the pooch. The Flip stops recognizing its own videos. The software can do almost nothing in terms of editing beyond the aforementioned combining of videos. Getting the videos (.MP4 format) into other programs is often a hassle. The HD is enough to require a fairly up-to-date system in order to watch the videos smoothly and fool around with them.

Summary: The Flip's simple and fun. If you're a techy, you can probably figure out work arounds for the problems, and if you do so, then you've got a formidable portable camera. If you're not very technologically adept and you have in the whispers of a thought that you might want to do more than just combine two videos (what if a shot comes out slightly wrong, or a random sound screws up what you were going for, or any other number of issues that you want to edit out easily?), then avoid the Flip. There are other options that are more versatile than the Flip.

Helpful Tip: If you do like the Flip, download Google's Picassa. It may not be the best software ever, but it's got a leg up in some areas and is pretty easy to get the hang of, as well as being free. Personally, it's what I use currently, but I'll definitely be investing in something more robust in the near future. Picassa's a great starting point though, a hundred times better than the Flip's own software.
